Wellness Instructor – Med Wellness & Recreation

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Med Wellness & Recreation is seeking temporary Wellness Instructors to lead fitness programming, conduct health assessments, and support members in achieving their wellness goals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fitness and health risk assessments, including baseline biometric testing and health history reviews.
• Develop and implement personalized exercise programs and group classes such as Yoga, Pilates, and Dance.
• Provide motivated coaching, monitor participants, and answer member questions about equipment and workouts.
• Supervise fitness areas, inspect equipment for safety, and ensure compliance with center policies.
• Assist with orientations, educational sessions, marketing campaigns, and maintain accurate member data using relevant software.
• Set up and clean equipment before and after classes, achieve daily attendance goals, and serve as a substitute instructor when needed.

Required profile

• Current fitness or wellness certifications required.
• Experience leading group exercise classes (Yoga, Pilates, Dance) at various skill levels.
• Ability to conduct health risk assessments and biometric testing.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with members and staff.
