Welding Technical Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia, through West Georgia Technical College, seeks a Welding Technical Instructor to deliver high‑quality instruction in welding and joining technology. The position supports day, evening, and online programs for traditional and dual‑enrolled students on the Murphy Campus in Waco, GA.

Key responsibilities

• Provide theory and hands‑on instruction in welding and joining technology across face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats.
• Develop and deliver curriculum that aligns with academic state standards and industry best practices.
• Evaluate student progress, assign grades promptly, and maintain accurate academic records.
• Maintain program accreditation requirements and ensure lab safety.
• Utilize classroom and lab technology to simulate real‑world welding environments.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to support instructional programs.

Required profile

• Diploma in Welding from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of welding experience within the past seven years.
• Ability to pass an AWS plate welding test (and AWS pipe welding test for certain campuses).
• Valid driver’s license.
