Weekend Machinist I (CNC & Manual Machining)

About the role

Stryker is hiring a Machinist I for weekend shifts in Arlington. The role supports CNC and manual machining operations by producing precision metal components used in life-saving medical technologies. It involves operating manufacturing equipment, ensuring data accuracy, communicating across teams and supporting quality and production goals in a safety-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor CNC and/or manual machining equipment to produce parts meeting engineering and quality specifications.
• Work actively on machines in a manufacturing environment, keeping output consistent, dimensionally accurate and with good surface finish.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions and basic engineering drawings.
• Perform routine quality checks with calipers, micrometers and gauges and document results.
• Identify and escalate equipment issues, quality concerns or deviations from standard work.
• Support 5S, safety and continuous improvement initiatives in the machining area.
• Collaborate with team leads, engineers and quality partners to meet production and quality goals.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience working on machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated hands-on machining experience (CNC or manual) in a production setting.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends, overtime and holidays as needed.
• Preferred: Machinist certification from an accredited school, experience in regulated manufacturing (medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.), and familiarity with basic GD&T concepts.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand and move for long periods; work environment may be noisy and requires PPE.

• Pay of $23.80 per hour plus a $1.00 shift premium.
