Water Restoration Technician

About the role

ServiceMaster Restore 4736 in Thomasville is hiring a full-time Water Restoration Technician. The technician monitors, inspects and completes tasks for water restoration jobs, including drying, demolition and other restoration activities, and prepares documentation to support insurance reimbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve work orders, check routes, load equipment and supplies on the truck and arrive at the job site
• Perform water damage repair: water extraction, pack-out of contents, removal and disposal of non-salvageable materials, and light construction and demolition as directed by the supervisor
• Handle equipment, supplies, vehicles and products properly, report malfunctions or damage to the supervisor, and inspect completed jobs before obtaining customer signatures and requesting payment
• Monitor daily water jobs for residential and/or commercial customers, adjust drying plans based on meter readings and resolve customer issues
• Prepare notes, photos and documents according to company policy to support insurance reimbursement
• Explain processes and next steps to customers in person, using printed materials as a guide, with or without a supervisor

Required profile

• Experience in the restoration or construction industry is not required but preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
• Must report to work on time in a clean, complete uniform
• Physical demands include lifting up to 70 pounds, standing and walking for long periods, and crawling or crouching; ability to wear a sealing respirator when needed

Required skills

• Experience using mobile software to enter data
• Certifications are not required but preferred: WTR (Water Damage Restoration Technician) and ASD (Applied Structural Drying Technician)
