Watchlist Analyst MID

About the role

Amentum provides warning and all-source analytical support to DIA's Defense Combating Terrorism Office, helping drive DoD policy, planning and operational decisions against regional and transnational terrorism threats. The Watchlist Analyst MID systematically reviews DoD datasets for identifying information on known or suspected terrorists, compiles nominations and produces reports for the National Terrorist Watchlisting system. The position is on the first shift, 8 hours per day.

Key responsibilities

• Review DoD datasets assessed as likely to contain identifying information on known or suspected terrorists.
• Identify, prioritize and record information from those datasets as specified by the Government.
• Cross-check suspects against other intelligence holdings to ensure completeness and avoid duplicate entries.
• Compile information into nomination reports, format, classify and address them correctly, and correct and resubmit incorrect reports.
• Meet the Terrorist Identity Nomination (TIN) production schedule and prepare reports for dissemination.
• Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced team members.
• Attend meetings, conferences, intelligence exchanges and working groups supporting the Watchlisting mission.

Required profile

• Security clearance: TS/SCI with CIP.
• Education: high school or GED; preferred bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience: 5 years minimum, with 8 years desired and at least part of it in the last 2 years.
• Understanding of the 200 series of ODNI ICDs (203, 206, 208).

Required skills

• All-source intelligence analysis of DoD datasets and production of reports using the WATCHDOG tool or similar DIA tools.
• Use of research databases such as the Global Terrorism Database and quantifiable matrices.
• General knowledge of IC organizations involved in counterterrorism operations.
