Watchlist Analyst Junior

About the role

Amentum provides warning and all-source analytical support to DIA's Defense Combating Terrorism Office, helping shape DoD policy, planning and operational decisions against regional and transnational terrorism threats. The Watchlist Analyst Junior reviews DoD datasets for identifying information on known or suspected terrorists, compiles nomination reports and supports the National Terrorist Watchlisting system. The position is on the first shift, 8 hours per day.

Key responsibilities

• Systematically review DoD datasets assessed as likely to contain identifying information on known or suspected terrorists.
• Identify, prioritize and record information from those datasets as specified by the Government.
• Cross-check and research suspects against other intelligence holdings to ensure completeness and avoid duplicate entries.
• Compile information into nomination reports, correctly format, classify and address them, and correct and resubmit incorrect reports.
• Meet the Terrorist Identity Nomination (TIN) production schedule and prepare reports for dissemination.
• Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced team members and attend meetings, conferences and intelligence exchanges supporting the Watchlisting mission.

Required profile

• Security clearance: TS/SCI with CIP.
• Education: high school diploma or GED; preferred bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience: minimum 2 years, preferably 4 years in the same labor category, with at least part of it in the last 2 years.
• Understanding of the 200 series of ODNI ICDs (203, 206, 208) and ability to produce written assessments, graphics and briefings to DIA and ODNI standards.

Required skills

• Use of DIA's Watchlisting Data Organizer (WATCHDOG) and other internal production tools.
• Research databases such as the Global Terrorism Database and quantifiable matrices.
• General knowledge of intelligence community organizations and terrorist organizations, including their names, locations, leadership, activities and ideology.
