Watchlist Analyst, Jr.

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Watchlist Analyst, Jr. in Reston, VA, to support mission-critical counterterrorism analysis for the Defense Intelligence Agency's Defense Combating Terrorism Office. The analyst reviews DoD datasets for identifying information on known or suspected terrorists, produces watchlisting nominations and supports the National Terrorist Watchlisting system.

Key responsibilities

• Review DoD datasets assessed as likely to contain identifying information on known or suspected terrorists.
• Identify, prioritize and record information from those datasets as specified by the Government.
• Cross-check suspects against other intelligence holdings to avoid duplicate entries.
• Compile information into nomination reports, formatted, classified and addressed correctly, and meet the Terrorist Identity Nomination (TIN) production schedule.
• Correct and resubmit incorrect reports and prepare them for dissemination as record message traffic or other methods.
• Guide less experienced team members on watchlisting.
• Participate in meetings, conferences, intelligence exchanges and working groups supporting the Watchlisting mission.

Required profile

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• High school diploma or GED; minimum 2 years of experience, with 3 years preferred and at least part of it in the last 2 years.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
• Understanding of the 200 series of ODNI ICDs (203, 206, 208) and ability to write strategic counterterrorism and all-source intelligence products to DIA and ODNI standards.
• Ability to use research databases such as the Global Terrorism Database and quantifiable matrices.
