Warehouse Manager

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Warehouse Manager in Tipp City. The role manages all aspects of distribution centre (DF) building operations, including shipping, receiving, sanitation and inventory control standards, so that merchandise moves through the facility productively and cost-effectively. It also ensures compliance with safe work practices and fosters a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, lead, direct and supervise 40+ team members indirectly in daily distribution operations and 3+ salary supervisors directly, and train and coach supervisors with career development plans.
• Hold leadership team members accountable for goals, financial metrics and team performance.
• Review capital project options, own projects from start to finish, monitor costs and make decisions that improve efficiency while meeting budgets.
• Use team surveys to create area-specific action items and build a positive, inclusive work environment.
• Manage accurate inventory control so shipments to stores are correct and on time.
• Identify improvements, assess risks and rewards, and break down productivity goals by shift, area and department.
• Own shift safety, inventory and manifest accuracy, production, load quality, scheduling, sanitation and training.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of management experience in distribution, warehousing or supply chain required.
• Proven track record of mentoring and developing direct reports.
• Working knowledge of federal and state regulatory compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and prioritize.
• Ability to benchmark, report and summarize key metrics and root causes of performance.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies and contracts.
