VP of Pharmacy

About the role

eternalHealth is a consumer‑centric Medicare Advantage health plan based in Boston. The Vice President of Pharmacy will report to the Chief Medical Officer and lead all pharmacy operations, clinical programs, and strategic initiatives as the company expands its Medicare offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to achieve Part D STAR ratings of 4 STAR or higher.
• Optimize the pharmacy component of the Medical Loss Ratio through step‑therapy, comprehensive medication reviews, and cost‑lowering initiatives.
• Oversee OptumRx, GLP‑1 action plans, and high‑cost drug management programs.
• Lead strategic product planning to create competitive, financially viable pharmacy products.
• Manage day‑to‑day pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Maintain vendor relationships, including contracts with Pharmacy Benefit Managers.
• Design pharmacy benefit structures in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Partner with clinical leadership to support STAR measures and quality initiatives.
• Develop policies, procedures, and work instructions for pharmacy staff.
• Support audit activities and CMS consultations, and monitor key performance indicators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Managed Care or Pharmacy Benefit Management.
• Ability to work on‑site in Boston.
