VP Controller

About the role

Our publicly traded client in the services industry is seeking a VP Corporate Controller to lead the finance organization. The role reports directly to the C‑suite and oversees the financial close, external reporting and technical accounting for a growing, global business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage SEC reporting obligations, preparing and filing 10‑Q and 10‑K in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Oversee general ledger, fixed‑asset accounting and the global financial close and consolidation cycle.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert on technical accounting topics such as revenue recognition, purchase accounting and new pronouncement adoption.
• Lead the external audit process and coordinate with valuation specialists on impairment, intangible valuation and tax provision matters.
• Identify and implement ERP system improvements to streamline workflows and reporting.
• Drive finance activities across the full M&A lifecycle, including due diligence and integration.
• Partner with Internal Audit to maintain a robust SOX‑compliant control environment.
• Monitor tax regulations worldwide and work with advisors on tax‑efficient structures.

Required profile

• Public accounting background with CPA or equivalent qualification.
• Prior experience as Controller or Assistant Controller in a public company.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large finance teams and interact with senior executives.
• Strong analytical mindset and track record of process improvement.
