Voice Technician

About the role

The Voice Technician joins Competitive Range Solutions' Telecommunications and Voice Services team to install, maintain, and troubleshoot voice communication systems for DoD customers. The role ensures high‑security standards and reliable service delivery in a multi‑contractor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain VoIP and traditional telephony systems, adhering to DoD STIGs and engineering standards.
• Perform regular maintenance, diagnose issues, and resolve voice system problems to minimize downtime.
• Document baseline configurations and update asset records in DoD‑provided systems.
• Provide technical support to end‑users and coordinate with IT, network, and vendor teams.
• Collaborate with network infrastructure teams to integrate voice and data services.
• Prepare reports on installations, maintenance activities, compliance, and performance.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) customer environment.
• Strong customer service skills in a high‑visibility setting.
• Attention to detail, problem‑analysis ability, and solid mathematics/IT aptitude.

Required skills

• VoIP, ISDN, VoSIP, and teleconferencing technologies.
• TCP/IP protocol suite knowledge, including MAC and IP addressing.
• Proficiency with MS Office and cost‑estimate reporting.
• Relevant telephony certifications (Avaya, Nortel, AT&T) or equivalent network certifications.
