Visiting Assistant Professor of Studio Art

About the role

The University of Arkansas invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Studio Art. This fixed‑term, academic‑term position will join the School of Art to teach studio courses, mentor students, and contribute to the department’s artistic and scholarly activities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate studio art courses, including critiques and project development.
• Provide individual advising and mentorship to art majors.
• Develop and update curriculum in line with contemporary studio practices.
• Maintain studio spaces, equipment, and safety standards.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and community outreach.

Required profile

• Terminal degree (MFA or equivalent) in Studio Art or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated professional practice and a strong portfolio of artistic work.
• Prior teaching experience at the college level, preferably in a studio environment.

Required skills
