Vice President of Accounting

About the role

Our client, a high‑growth FinTech company, is looking for a Vice President of Accounting to lead the accounting organization and act as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive team. This senior role combines operational oversight of core accounting functions with deep analytical insight to help the business understand performance drivers and guide action.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across general accounting, revenue accounting, accounts payable, financial reporting, technical accounting and internal controls.
• Maintain a timely, accurate monthly close and continuously improve scalability and efficiency of the close process.
• Oversee preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the annual audit process and serve as primary liaison with external auditors and internal audit resources.
• Develop, mentor and inspire a high‑performing accounting team, establishing clear accountability and growth opportunities.
• Partner with FP&A to strengthen budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting.
• Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for the CFO, CEO and cross‑functional leaders.
• Identify operational drivers behind results, assess risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to support rapid growth.

Required profile

• Proven senior accounting leadership experience in a fast‑growing, regulated financial‑services environment.
• Strong business judgment, executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Track record of building scalable accounting processes and improving reporting efficiency.
• Experience managing audits and establishing robust internal controls.
• Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to both finance and non‑finance audiences.
