Vice President, Digital Currency Compliance Advisory

About the role

The Vice President, Digital Currency Compliance Advisory is a senior leadership position within Mastercard’s Global Ethics and Compliance team. You will act as the primary subject‑matter expert for the company’s digital asset, stablecoin and blockchain initiatives, providing strategic advisory to product teams and ensuring that innovation is built on a robust AML, sanctions and regulatory compliance foundation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely advisory and oversight as a 2nd‑line functional expert, helping business units launch digital‑currency products with clear regulatory risk understanding.
• Partner with product and technology teams throughout the lifecycle to embed “Compliance by Design” controls for digital wallets, cross‑border settlement solutions and NFT marketplaces.
• Oversee AML operations for virtual assets, setting standards for VASP due‑diligence, on‑chain transaction monitoring and integration of blockchain analytics tools.
• Lead the compliance workstream for M&A activity in the digital‑asset sector, conducting regulatory due‑diligence and integrating AML/Sanctions frameworks post‑acquisition.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in compliance, AML and sanctions within the digital‑asset or financial‑services space.
• Proven ability to work with product, technology and risk teams to design and implement compliance controls.
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations for virtual‑asset service providers and blockchain technologies.
