Vice President, Data Engineering

About the role

Mastercard Services Technology is seeking a Vice President of Data Engineering to lead the transformation of its enterprise data ecosystem. This high‑impact role will define and deliver modern, scalable, and secure data and AI platforms across AWS and Azure, driving innovation in data management, storage, governance, and access.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead architecture of cloud‑native data platforms, including lakehouse designs on S3, Azure Data Lake, and Databricks.
• Provide technical leadership across data engineering, platform engineering, and DevOps teams.
• Act as a hands‑on architect, designing and implementing core data platform components.
• Lead DevOps transformation, establishing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, and automated multi‑cloud deployments.
• Establish enterprise cloud security standards (IAM, encryption, network security) and ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA).
• Design and implement data governance frameworks using AWS Lake Formation and Azure Purview.
• Architect scalable batch and streaming pipelines for large‑scale ETL/ELT workloads.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in fast‑paced, large‑scale data environments.
• Strategic vision combined with hands‑on execution ability.
• Experience building and scaling engineering teams.
