About the role
Veterinary Care & Specialty Group (VCSG) in Chattanooga is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join its busy Neurology Department. You will work alongside board‑certified neurologists, providing high‑level nursing care for patients with complex neurological conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Assist board‑certified neurologists with neuro exams, diagnostic procedures and intricate surgeries.
- Monitor patients at risk for cardiac or respiratory arrest and perform CPR when needed.
- Conduct patient assessments, maintain detailed records, and communicate care plans to pet owners.
- Operate advanced diagnostics such as MRI, CT and radiology, and handle sample collection including cerebrospinal fluid.
- Provide intensive monitoring before, during and after procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and advocate for patient wellbeing from admission to discharge.
Required profile
- Minimum two years of veterinary experience, preferably in a specialty or neurology setting.
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring and drug calculations.
- Strong medical math abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, team‑oriented attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lb; LVT or equivalent certification preferred.
