Valet Attendant

About the role

The Valet Attendant provides patient‑assisted parking services for veterans, visitors, and caregivers at the Albany Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The role ensures efficient vehicle handling, maintains key accountability, and supports continuous parking operations with wait times under ten minutes.

Key responsibilities

• Receive vehicles at the main entrance, issue claim checks, and safely park them in the designated patient lot.
• Retrieve vehicles promptly upon request and maintain vehicle wait times under ten minutes.
• Maintain accountability of vehicle keys using lock boxes and the electronic claim‑check system.
• Provide continuous coverage, support relief during breaks, and complete daily service reports.
• Report safety concerns and coordinate with Veterans Affairs Police as needed.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with fluent English communication.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and minimum two years of driving experience (automatic and manual).
• At least six months of patient‑assisted parking experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to wear reflective outerwear and contractor uniforms during shifts.

Required skills

• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Experience operating an electronic claim‑check and vehicle tracking system.
