Utilization Manager Appeals Technician (Temp-to-Hire)

About the role

Judi Health is seeking a Utilization Manager Appeals Technician to join its remote team. The position is initially temporary with the potential to become permanent, supporting first, second‑level and external appeals across commercial, exchange, and Medicare lines of business.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and triage incoming appeal requests, ensuring they meet eligibility criteria.
• Maintain quality and productivity standards while meeting turnaround time goals.
• Update case types, send acknowledgements, and submit information to independent review organizations.
• Communicate with appeal pharmacists and conduct verbal outreach to gather necessary information.
• Perform triple‑check reviews to ensure compliance with internal SOPs and HIPAA policies.
• Document accurate case details and perform any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience as a certified pharmacy technician in a managed‑care or PBM environment.
• Active, unrestricted certified pharmacy technician license.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent written/oral communication.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, high‑volume, metric‑driven setting.
• Willingness to work 12 pm‑9 pm EST.
