Utility Relocation Engineer

About the role

ACCIONA Construction USA is seeking a Utility Relocation Engineer to support the SR 400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta, Georgia. The role focuses on engineering analysis, design coordination, and technical execution of utility relocation activities within the project’s roadway design.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engineering evaluations of utility conflicts identified during pre‑design and design development phases.
• Review civil, structural, and roadway plans to identify impacts on existing underground and overhead utilities.
• Develop and assess engineering‑based utility relocation solutions that are technically feasible, constructible, and compliant with codes and standards.
• Coordinate with internal design engineers and external consultants to integrate relocation requirements into final plans and specifications.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation, technical reports, and design submittals related to utility relocation.
• Support permitting and approval processes with engineering justification and technical responses.
• Provide engineering guidance during field execution to ensure installations conform to approved designs.

Required profile

• Professional engineering background with experience in utility relocation or related civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of civil, structural, and roadway design principles.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with utility owners, design teams, and construction personnel.
