About the role

The USC GEAR UP Success Coach will guide middle school students toward college readiness, delivering high‑quality instruction and support in on‑site partner schools.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality instruction and assess student progress in various educational settings.
  • Review and adapt early college advising curriculum to meet middle‑school student needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with school administrators, staff, and students.
  • Support program implementation, monitor contractual compliance, and maintain accurate records.
  • Plan lessons, prepare materials, and work independently to achieve program goals.

Required profile

  • Pursuing an Associate’s degree or higher.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students.
  • Familiarity with the college admissions process.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to transport self to scheduled school sites.
