About the role
The USC GEAR UP Lead Success Coach supports college readiness for middle and high school students across South Carolina. Working on‑site at partner schools, the coach delivers engaging advising lessons, manages coach schedules, and ensures program continuity.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver college advising lessons using the provided curriculum.
- Build relationships with students to promote academic success and college awareness.
- Monitor student progress and adapt instruction to diverse needs.
- Create and manage weekly schedules for Success Coaches at assigned sites.
- Collect, verify, and submit attendance sheets; maintain accurate records.
- Serve as first‑line substitute when a Success Coach is absent.
- Communicate with school staff, administrators, and coaches to support program implementation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage students in a classroom setting.
- Familiarity with the college admissions process.
- Detail‑oriented schedule and documentation management.
- Reliable transportation to travel between school sites.
