About the role
The U.S. Marine Corps is recruiting qualified attorneys to serve as active‑duty Judge Advocates. You will join a corps of approximately 600 uniformed lawyers and provide legal support across a wide range of military operations worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on criminal, civil, administrative, and international law matters.
- Represent the Marine Corps in litigation, courts‑martial, and other legal proceedings.
- Advise commanders on rules of engagement, operational law, and policy compliance.
- Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and prepare legal opinions.
- Participate in training, leadership development, and physical fitness standards required of all Marine officers.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship.
- J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school (or currently pursuing).
- Under 41 years of age.
- Ability to meet rigorous physical fitness standards.
