US Immigration Paralegal (H-1B, L-1, EB-5)
Teams Squared
Job description
About the role
A team augmentation company is seeking an experienced US immigration paralegal to support a US immigration law firm. The role focuses on substantive legal work, not a combined legal or executive assistant position, and involves preparing and filing H-1B and L-1 petitions, with some family-based immigration work. It is a dedicated 40-hour-per-week position on US Eastern Time, fully remote.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble H-1B petitions, including cap, extension, amendment and transfer cases, together with Labor Condition Applications (LCAs).
- Prepare L-1A and L-1B intracompany transferee petitions, including evidence of the qualifying relationship, role and employment history.
- Support EB-5 investor matters, including document collection, source-of-funds evidence and petition preparation.
- Prepare family-based filings such as I-130 and I-485, and draft support letters, cover letters and exhibit lists.
- Compile complete filing packages for attorney review and help draft responses to RFEs and other USCIS notices.
- Gather documents from corporate clients, HR contacts and beneficiaries, and track case status, receipts and deadlines in the case management system.
- Communicate with clients and the attorney team by email and Microsoft Teams, and stay current on immigration regulations and USCIS updates.
Required profile
- Degree in Law, Legal Studies or Paralegal Studies, or an equivalent legal or paralegal diploma.
- Hands-on experience preparing and filing H-1B and L-1 petitions; about a year of experience in other US visa categories is also considered.
- EB-5 and family-based immigration experience is highly desirable and advantageous respectively.
- Excellent written and spoken English, strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines, work independently remotely and work full-time on US Eastern Time.
Required skills
- Sound understanding of USCIS forms, filing procedures, evidentiary requirements and RFE responses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with INSZoom or other immigration case management software is advantageous.
What we offer
- Competitive compensation package paid in foreign currency.
- Fully remote work.
- Regular initiatives for training and professional development.
