Universal Banker Trainee – Retail Banking

About the role

The Universal Banker Trainee position delivers excellent customer experiences in a retail banking environment. Trainees develop product knowledge, sales skills, and compliance expertise while supporting daily branch operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive cash and checks, verify amounts, detect fraud, and process deposits according to bank policy.
• Balance cash drawer, cash checks, and enter transactions into the banking system.
• Assist customers with basic deposit account openings, maintenance requests, and product referrals based on needs‑based questioning.
• Participate in outbound teleconsulting, onsite customer visits, and weekly coaching sessions to grow relationships.
• Serve as relief or backup teller at other Midland locations and travel occasionally for training.

Required profile

• Sales and customer service background with strong communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift coin/currency bags up to 50 lbs.
• Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Cash handling and counterfeit detection.
• Basic knowledge of deposit and lending products.
