About the role

Zurich is seeking an Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist to manage a portfolio of franchised auto dealer accounts within the Direct Markets area. The role involves risk selection, pricing, and ensuring profitability while collaborating with sales and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

Evaluate new business and renewal opportunities, assessing exposures, financials, and loss experience.
Administer underwriting rules, rating manuals, and ensure compliance with insurance laws and regulations.
Develop and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and distributors to support retention and acquisition.
Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities and conduct detailed opportunity assessments.

Required profile

High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in underwriting, claims, or market‑facing roles.
Knowledge of insurance industry regulations, underwriting philosophy, and line‑of‑business guidelines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
