UAS Propulsion Engineer – Unmanned Aerial Systems

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of its Aerovel engine technology for the Flexrotor unmanned aerial system. You will work from concept through dyno testing, flight‑test telemetry analysis and field support, owning the engine’s development and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, commission and operate new engine dynos, ensuring test accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain deep knowledge of Aerovel engine dyno critical items and technical approaches.
• Perform hands‑on dyno testing, data validation and continuous improvement of test procedures.
• Analyze flight‑test telemetry to assess engine performance and support field operations.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and cross‑functional teams to drive innovation in low‑volume aerospace manufacturing.

Required profile

• Experience in propulsion engineering and engine testing within aerospace or related high‑performance environments.
• Ability to manage the complete engine lifecycle from concept to field support.
• Strong analytical skills for telemetry data interpretation and test result validation.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on safety, accuracy and continuous improvement.
