About the role

The Student Support Services Tutor works under the Tutor Coordinator to help students succeed in developmental and college‑level coursework. The position is based on the Helena campus and involves weekly interaction with project participants.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with project participants on campus each week to provide academic assistance and test preparation.
• Assist students with developmental and college‑level coursework, offering guidance and resources.
• Model effective study habits and strategies that promote college success.
• Collaborate with the Tutor Coordinator to track student progress and adjust support as needed.

Required profile

• Earned an “A” or “B” grade in the course(s) you will tutor.
• Excellent communication skills and sensitivity to the needs of economically, educationally disadvantaged, and disabled students.
• Preferably share a background similar to the target student population.
• Current or former participant in Student Support Services is strongly preferred.
