Tutor - Extra Help Assistant

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking motivated individuals to join the TRIO/Student Support Services Center as Tutors – Extra Help Assistants. This work‑study position supports undergraduate students by providing academic assistance in a variety of courses.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group tutoring sessions covering course material.
• Assist students in understanding concepts, completing assignments, and preparing for exams.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.
• Collaborate with faculty and support staff to identify tutoring needs.
• Uphold university policies and confidentiality standards.

Required profile

• Current undergraduate student or holder of a bachelor’s or graduate degree.
• Demonstrated strong academic performance (grade of A or B) in the subject area to be tutored.
• Prior experience in tutoring, mentoring, or teaching is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse student populations.
