Travel Medical Assistant

About the role

Travel Medical Assistant brings preventive healthcare directly to patients in their homes on a temporary, project‑based assignment across Ohio. The position is W‑2, temporary/seasonal, non‑exempt, paying $35 per hour with variable hours based on project volume and patient availability.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled in‑home patient visits throughout Ohio, obtaining vital signs, health screenings and accurately documenting all required information.
• Perform standard Medical Assistant duties within the authorized scope, including point‑of‑care testing, specimen collection and supporting routine clinical workflows during visits.
• Stay organized across changing routes, patient schedules and coverage needs while maintaining assigned equipment, supplies and safeguarding company property and patient information.
• Document visit activities promptly in designated systems and applications, adhering to infection‑control, safety, HIPAA/privacy and escalation procedures.
• Meet applicable scheduling, attendance, travel, productivity, quality and documentation expectations set by the project.

Required profile

• Medical Assistant training, certification, diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Hands‑on Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and willingness to travel statewide.
• Ability to work independently in patients’ homes and follow established clinical and operational protocols.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational and patient‑service skills.
