Transition Specialist - Community Support Specialist

About the role

The Transition Specialist – Community Support Specialist supports Greystar’s financial operations for assigned residential communities. The role combines accounting, bookkeeping, and financial close‑out duties with resident and vendor communication to ensure accurate financial reporting and revenue optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Process onsite operational expenses, reconcile work performed, confirm receipt of goods, and code expenses to the appropriate Chart of Accounts.
• Prepare financial close‑out for each community, ensuring accurate billing and minimizing liability for damages.
• Communicate with residents about account balances, collect delinquent payments, and enforce lease contracts.
• Coordinate vendor and contractor set‑up, manage payment processing, and act as liaison between vendors, accounting, and property owners.
• Support legal processes for regaining possession of apartments, including notice requirements and document filing.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with company procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in accounting or bookkeeping within a property‑management or real‑estate environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile complex expense reports.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, vendors, and internal teams.
• Knowledge of lease agreements, rent collection procedures, and basic legal processes related to property possession.
