Transfer Associate – 2nd Shift

About the role

The Transfer Associate works the second shift in a poultry hatchery, moving eggs from transport buggies to the setter machines. The role requires strict adherence to safety and animal welfare guidelines while maintaining a clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform machine checks before and during the shift.
• Transfer a specified number of eggs from buggies into setter machines.
• Pull, push, and roll egg buggies weighing up to 1,000 lbs.
• Clean and sanitize machines, floors, drains, baskets, and buggies.
• Follow all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and applicable laws.
• Complete any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a hatchery or poultry environment is preferred.
• Ability to work unsupervised, stay motivated, and handle night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Basic math skills for counting and recording egg quantities.
• Commitment to safety, honesty, and strong work ethic.

Required skills

• Operate egg transfer equipment and setter machines.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 60 lb.
• Work in high‑heat (≈99.5 °F) and wet, dusty conditions.
