Training Specialist – Training Development

About the role

The Training Specialist will lead the design, development, and oversight of training programs for U.S. Southern Command. This position ensures that training materials and courses meet mission requirements and support operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop training materials and course outlines for mandatory and specialized training.
• Provide policy and procedural guidance on training support coordination, master scheduling, and evaluation systems.
• Lead, manage, and coordinate training support programs across USSOUTHCOM and partner agencies.
• Develop unique training programs tailored to personnel needs to maintain or improve job performance.
• Collaborate with educational institutions to deliver targeted leadership and development training.
• Ensure compliance with security, drug‑free, and travel requirements, including occasional TDY travel and overtime.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with eligibility for Top Secret SCI clearance (Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk).
• Successful completion of a background investigation and compliance with the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Program.
• One year of specialized experience in developing training programs, coordinating with educational institutions, and designing mission‑critical courses.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and to travel as needed.
