Trailer Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic for its Dallas, TX Service Center. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and prepare required documentation in compliance with FMCSA and other regulations.
• Diagnose issues, repair or replace defective parts, and conduct preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Test equipment to verify proper performance and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate work orders using the Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.

Required profile

• Experience performing safety inspections and preparing related documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and work independently.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb and work in varying climate conditions.
• Own set of tools and dependable work ethic.

Required skills

• Repairing and replacing trailer components.
• Trailer preventive maintenance (PM) procedures.
• Testing equipment for performance compliance.
• Use of Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• Welding and sheet‑metal/composite panel repair.
• Operating yard tractors and trailers.
