Trailer Mechanic – Full‑Time (2nd/3rd Shift)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a dedicated Trailer Mechanic to join its Talmo, GA service center. The position is full‑time, working the 2nd and 3rd shifts, and focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of trailers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and prepare required documentation in compliance with FMCSA, state and local regulations.
• Interpret technical manuals to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems on trailers.
• Test equipment to verify proper performance and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) on trailers and address any repair needs.
• Lift and handle components up to 50 lb and work in varying climate conditions as required.

Required profile

• Experience performing safety inspections and completing FMCSA documentation.
• Proven ability to read and apply technical manuals.
• Hands‑on experience with trailer repairs, part replacement, and equipment testing.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and work in diverse weather conditions.
• Own set of tools and a dependable work ethic.
