Trailer Mechanic – 2nd Shift (3 pm‑1:30 am)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a dedicated Trailer Mechanic to join its China Grove, NC service center on the 2nd shift (3 pm – 1:30 am, Monday‑Friday). The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and complete required documentation in compliance with FMCSA and other regulations.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, repair or replace defective parts, and conduct preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Test equipment to verify performance meets manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
• Utilize the Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System to track work orders and maintenance history.
• Operate yard tractors and move trailers as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience performing safety inspections and maintaining compliance documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Experience with trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in varying climate conditions.
• Own set of tools and dependable work ethic.
