Traffic Administrator

About the role

The Traffic Administrator supports Nucor’s steel production by coordinating inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining smooth communication between carriers, internal teams, and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage bills of lading for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Contact carriers to schedule loading and dispatch loads.
• Weigh trucks and verify cargo quantities.
• Generate and analyze shipping reports.
• Dispatch loads to carriers and track delivery status.
• Collaborate closely with finance, shipping, and sales departments.
• Promote and uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in a business environment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work rotating day/evening shifts, Monday‑Friday.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
