About the role
Leidos is hiring a Tier III operations and maintenance (O&M) engineer to support a customer's WAN and LAN networks at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. The role covers incident resolution, routing and firewall changes, and acts as a subject matter expert in WAN and LAN technologies, including intranet, internet and other data communications systems.
Key responsibilities
- Support O&M activities and administer LAN and WAN technologies such as OSPF, BGP, VRF, VLAN, VRRP and MPLS
- Monitor system and network performance, configure and test hardware, networking software and operating systems
- Review upgrade and addition requests, assess their impact and advise on practical technical approaches
- Perform long-term O&M, including Tier 3 troubleshooting, fault management and performance management
- Prepare troubleshooting procedures, coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams, and report on network management data
- Analyze network characteristics and recommend procurement, removals and modifications; optimize network topologies and site configurations
- Maintain operating systems, communications software, database packages, compilers and utilities, and ensure open systems compliance (e.g. IEEE OSE)
- May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities and may be called in after hours for incidents
Required profile
- TS SCI CI Poly clearance
- 16 years of combined work history and education (equivalent to a doctorate, master's, bachelor's or associate degree)
- DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 compliance
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals and documentation
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
Required skills
- Boundary protection devices (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Forcepoint) and Juniper/Cisco routers and switches
- Protocols: OSPF, BGP, VPN, VRF, MPLS
- Routing, switching, IP subnetting, NAT and security technologies
- Service Now or similar ITSM tools
- Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Pay range: $92,300 - $166,850.
