Cisco SD-WAN Engineer

About the role

Leidos has an immediate need for a Cisco SD-WAN Engineer to provide technical support for the design, deployment and maintenance of SD-WAN solutions in an enterprise environment. The engineer works with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers and vendors, and acts as a subject matter expert in Cisco SD-WAN technologies, covering DEV/TEST and Production environments. The role involves administering configurations, supporting testing, recommending enhancements and troubleshooting issues on Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy and manage Cisco SD-WAN solutions (formerly Viptela or Meraki)
• Coordinate deployments and maintenance with DRSN engineers and site personnel
• Evaluate network requirements and recommend technical improvements
• Provide expertise in SD-WAN overlay/underlay networking, including BGP, OSPF, IPSec tunnels and application-aware routing
• Maintain vManage, vSmart, vBond and Edge routers, and configure QoS, security policies and segmentation
• Assist IA personnel with network security and compliance, and perform installation, testing and validation on-site and remotely
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, document architecture and support upgrades and migrations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 10+ years; specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance
• Current DoD 8570 certification at IAT level II (Security+ CE)
• Experience remotely configuring networking or transport devices

Required skills

• Strong experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Catalyst SD-WAN/Viptela or Meraki) and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
• VPN, IPSec and on-premises SD-WAN deployment
• Cisco IOS-XE, vManage and network automation tools; basic Linux administration or CLI
• Desired: CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Security, Cisco DNA Center, SolarWinds or Splunk, and devices such as Catalyst 8300/8500 or 1000 ISRs
