Therapist – Full‑time Clinical Position

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full‑time Therapist to deliver comprehensive therapeutic care to patients of all ages. The role involves direct counseling, psychosocial assessments, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to support maternal‑child health and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, evaluate, and assess patient needs to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions, including psycho‑education.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary service teams to ensure coordinated psychosocial services.
• Prepare progress notes, reports, and maintain confidential case records.
• Conduct psychosocial evaluations, diagnose psychological disorders, and make treatment recommendations.
• Serve as liaison to external service providers, courts, and treatment centers.
• Deliver maternal‑child health education, parenting classes, breastfeeding support, and tobacco‑cessation counseling.
• Provide crisis intervention and refer participants to appropriate mental‑health or substance‑abuse services.
• Perform case management and care‑coordination in line with program models.
