Theatre/Drama Teacher (Maryland Schools)

About the role

The school is seeking a certified Theatre/Drama teacher to design and deliver engaging performing‑arts curricula for students across multiple locations. Working under the principal’s direction, you will create a supportive environment that fosters intellectual, social and emotional growth through theatre education.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement learning experiences aligned with MCPS curriculum and state standards.
• Provide an atmosphere conducive to students’ intellectual, physical, social and emotional development.
• Supervise students in various school settings and monitor their outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, staff and the community.
• Develop, select and modify instructional materials to meet diverse learner needs.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure proper use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.

Required profile

• Maryland state certification for theatre/drama teaching.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, policies and effective instructional practices.
• Ability to integrate technology and multicultural perspectives into lessons.
• Strong oral and written communication and collaboration skills with administrators, colleagues, students and parents.
