School Psychologists – Hiring Pool for 2026-2027

About the role

Under direction, school psychologists provide psychological services, interventions, and instructional supports to students, families, and schools within Maryland Public Schools. This posting creates a pool of qualified candidates for future vacancies in the 2026‑2027 school year.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to requests for psychological services and deliver direct and indirect support to students, families, and educators.
• Participate on problem‑solving teams such as Collaborative Problem Solving, Section 504, and IEP teams.
• Develop functional behavior assessments, conduct psychological assessments for educational purposes, and deliver behavioral and instructional interventions.
• Provide counseling, program consultation, parent training, and in‑service training for staff.

Required profile

• Masters, specialist, or doctoral degree in school psychology from an accredited institution.
• Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements for school psychologists; NCSP certification preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of data‑based decision making, consultation models, and evidence‑based interventions for academic and social‑emotional development.

Required skills

• Advanced ability to gather and use behavioral data to monitor student progress.
• Understanding of biological, cultural, developmental, and social influences on behavior and learning.
• Knowledge of research design, statistics, measurement, and program evaluation.
