Test Lab Engineer

About the role

DXP is looking for a Test Lab Engineer to join its Shreveport, LA facility. You will support the testing of centrifugal pumps, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering accurate performance data to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate pump curves and datasheets to define test parameters.
• Review equipment and system drawings for dimensional accuracy.
• Create and maintain physical and network job folders for each test project.
• Write job plans, test procedures, and documentation for shop personnel and customer approval.
• Interpret API, ANSI, HI, ISO, and ASME standards to guarantee test and facility compliance.
• Identify and secure required test equipment and components.
• Install and verify specialized machine monitoring systems on pumps.
• Conduct performance tests using specialized software and analyze vibration FFT spectra.
• Generate, review, and distribute test reports in line with governing standards.
• Maintain calibration and maintenance records for all test instruments.

Required profile

• Mechanically‑oriented individual eager to learn through hands‑on experience.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as API, HI, ASME, ANSI, and ISO.
• Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic principles.
• Knowledge of low‑voltage circuits, electronic controls, instrumentation, and control loops.
• Preferred experience with three‑phase electric motors, rotating machinery, and vibration monitoring.
• Strong safety awareness, communication, and organizational skills.
