Test Equipment Sustainment Engineer (Onsite, Torrance, CA)

About the role

Moog Military Aircraft is seeking a Test Equipment Sustainment Engineer to support the operation of test equipment used in the development of advanced flight‑control systems. The position is based onsite in Torrance, CA, and works within a matrixed organization that serves customers such as the Assembly and Test Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute activities that sustain and maintain multi‑axis, closed‑loop, servo‑hydraulic and electromechanical test equipment.
• Collaborate closely with Assembly and Test Operations customers, as well as a team of engineers and technicians, to ensure equipment readiness throughout the product life‑cycle.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, implement corrective actions, and document procedures.
• Support configuration management and tracking tools such as JIRA and Pirana.
• Provide technical guidance and training to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical, Physics or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in aerospace, automotive or test‑equipment engineering.
• Proven ability to obtain required security clearances.
• Experience working in a matrixed, multi‑disciplinary environment and interacting with customers under pressure.

Required skills

• Maintenance and support of servo‑hydraulic and electromechanical test systems.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Pirana, NX and/or LabVIEW (advantageous).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
