Rendezvous Robotics · Golden
Job description
About the role
Rendezvous Robotics builds electromagnetic self-assembling spacecraft components that dock and latch together, aiming to move from flight demonstrations to operational systems. It is a small team in Golden, Colorado working across hardware, software and systems engineering, and is looking for a Test Engineer to own its test strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Develop test plans, procedures and readiness documentation for component, subsystem and system-level testing, with clear traceability to requirements.
- Build and maintain test infrastructure: fixtures, data acquisition, automation and the tooling that makes campaigns repeatable.
- Run functional, environmental and performance tests, collect and analyze data, and document results against pass/fail criteria.
- Lead anomaly resolution and root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Work closely with design, manufacturing and avionics engineers to ensure an optimal production workflow.
- Serve as technical point of contact for test activities in design reviews and major test events.
- Own the test strategy as the program scales toward flight demonstration and first operational systems.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace or related).
- For senior level: 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience planning and running test campaigns such as environmental, structural, EMI/EMC and functional tests.
- Strong data analysis and failure analysis skills, with a systems-level view of how test results map back to requirements.
- Clear technical writing and communication.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility for the required authorizations (ITAR requirement).
Required skills
- Data acquisition, test automation and scripting (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB or similar).
- Preferred: spacecraft, satellite or flight-hardware AI&T experience; embedded systems, motor/actuator control or sensor instrumentation; knowledge of standards such as MIL-STD-810, GSFC-STD-7000 / GEVS; experience setting up a test lab from scratch in a startup.
What we offer
- Salary of $80,000-$120,000 for engineers and $120,000-$150,000 for senior engineers, depending on skills, education and experience.
- Possible long-term incentives in the form of stock options.
- Medical, vision and dental coverage, short- and long-term disability, life insurance and paid parental leave.
- Up to 3 weeks of paid vacation and 10+ paid holidays per year.
