Test Automation Engineer

About the role

CACI is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to design, build and maintain automated test solutions for back-end REST APIs and web user interfaces. The role also involves evolving the in-house automation framework, including migrating from legacy Robot Framework implementations to newer platforms. The position requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance automated test suites for REST APIs and web interfaces
• Build and maintain a scalable test harness covering execution, reporting, data setup/teardown and CI/CD integration
• Implement Python-based automation with Pytest, including fixtures, test data strategies and assertions
• Create and maintain Docker/Podman images for consistent test execution in developer and CI environments
• Integrate automated tests into Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Use Linux command-line tools and Bash to process large volumes of logs and test output
• Support UI automation with Robot Framework and Selenium, and plan the migration from legacy Robot Framework to a modern alternative
• Maintain SQL queries and integrate database validation steps where appropriate
• Troubleshoot CI failures and improve test reliability
• Support T&E documentation such as strategy, master plan, readiness assessments and reports

Required profile

• TS/SCI with a current polygraph to start
• 8 years of experience as a test engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope; a bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management or a related field is required, or 4 years of additional test engineer experience instead
• Strong Linux and Bash experience, and advanced Python test automation with Pytest
• Working knowledge of Jenkins and GitLab pipelines
• Experience with REST API testing and Robot Framework UI automation with Selenium
