Terminal Operator

About the role

Vopak is seeking a Terminal Operator to ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of bulk liquid products and gases at its terminals. You will work as part of an operations team, following strict safety procedures while handling a variety of tank cars, trucks, ships, and barges.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close valves manually or via computer‑controlled systems.
• Verify tank lineup, perform tank gauging and temperature checks, and complete related paperwork.
• Load and unload railroad tank cars, trucks, ships, and barges, including hose connections and mechanical load arm positioning.
• Operate hydraulic equipment safely, monitor gauges, and adjust flow rates as directed.
• Review operation orders for accuracy and ensure proper equipment selection.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to all safety training and SH&E standards.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety procedures and willingness to participate in safety training.
• Ability to work independently and in remote locations.
• Physical capability to crawl under tank cars, lift hoses, and use large wrenches.
• Attention to detail when reviewing documentation and operating equipment.

Required skills

• Valve operation (manual and computer‑controlled).
