Tenure‑Track Physical Therapy Faculty (Assistant/Associate Professor)

About the role

The Department of Physical Therapy at California State University, Fresno seeks a full‑time, ten‑month tenure‑track faculty member to join its Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program beginning Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach, conduct research, and contribute to service activities within a diverse, inclusive academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the DPT curriculum, including clinical instruction in on‑campus clinics.
• Develop and maintain an active research program aligned with departmental priorities (e.g., orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, pediatrics, biomechanics).
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including curriculum development and student mentorship.
• Engage with the university’s Hispanic‑Serving and AANAPISI missions to support a diverse student body.

Required profile

• Terminal doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., DSc) or DPT with ABPTS specialization; ABD candidates acceptable if degree completed by Aug 1 2026.
• Minimum one year of U.S. PT practice with a terminal academic degree, or three years of full‑time U.S. clinical experience with a DPT and ABPTS specialty.
• Current, active PT licensure in any U.S. jurisdiction and eligibility for California licensure.
• Evidence of teaching or research in at least one of the priority areas.
