About the role
The Board of Education Department of Human Resources is seeking a temporary World Language Teacher to deliver instruction in multiple language disciplines, including Italian, French, Latin, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese. This position supports both curricular and extracurricular activities, fostering student growth and cultural competence.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities for language learners.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with learning objectives.
- Utilize a variety of instructional resources and technology to meet diverse student needs.
- Assess, grade, and provide feedback on student work, including tests, homework, and projects.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare required reports.
- Manage classroom behavior and enforce school policies.
- Participate in department, school, and district meetings and professional development.
Required profile
- New York State or Buffalo certified in the relevant language teaching area.
- Proof of certification must be attached as a PDF or screenshot.
- Preference given to candidates residing in the City of Buffalo.
