About the role

The Department of Public Health and Health Sciences at Northeastern University is hiring temporary part‑time research nurses to support studies on risk factors for alcohol misuse in young adults. This role involves direct participant interaction, clinical assessments, and IV infusions as part of the research protocol.

Key responsibilities

Conduct screening appointments: medical history interviews, ECGs, phlebotomy, and vital‑sign measurements.
Determine participant eligibility for study inclusion.
Prepare and manage IV lines and infusion pumps for ethanol and saline administrations.
Monitor IV pump performance, troubleshoot errors, and ensure participant safety during and after infusions.

Required profile

Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Experience with phlebotomy and intravenous therapy.

Electrocardiogram (ECG) operation

What we offer

Pay rate of $60 per hour.
Flexible schedule up to 20 hours per week, suitable for parents, semi‑retirees, or nurses working full‑time elsewhere.
Potential renewal beyond six months pending grant funding.
