Technician – Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Technician to join our maintenance team and ensure the reliable operation of SBV machinery on site. You will work closely with the Mechanical Maintenance Manager to execute preventative plans, respond to equipment failures and support continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and routine maintenance on automated, electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules and conduct corrective actions according to OEM standards.
• Diagnose faults, analyse sensor data and resolve incidents promptly.
• Carry out daily equipment inspections and early fault detection.
• Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts to minimise downtime.
• Prepare daily and monthly performance reports, including uptime, downtime and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and support ESG reporting.
• Act as a change champion, promoting company values and a performance‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience as an on‑site technician supporting automated or industrial equipment.
• Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance in a continuous‑operations environment.
• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Millwright, Electrician, Fitter & Turner) or a National Diploma/NQF Level 5 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering (advantageous).
• Prior exposure to cash‑processing, banking, manufacturing or security‑controlled environments is a plus.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office) for reporting and system updates.
